The lord stone will give you free 25% magic resistance, while the atronach stone will give you 50% spell absorption. If you want some free magic resistance, an easy way to get some is through standing stones. These effects can also be stacked with resist magic effects for further damage reduction. You can also stack the effects of these potions with resist shock enchantments. The strength of these potions can also be buffed with fortify alchemy enchantment.

Do not use every single one the second you level up and hold on to them, because that new Skill you want may be 2 heavy armor levels away, but suddenly you have to wait another x amount of hours for a full level up to actually get a point to earn itĬlick to shrink. You can use alchemy to craft much stronger potions. Stealth tree is basically useless outside of increased sneak damage on bow etc. Same with speech if you play smart and amass a hoard of cheap enchanted shit to sell. Things like pickpocket can be save scummed, and thus it's entire tree worthless. Focus on combat damage and QoL stuff like no movement penalty on armor type asap over smaller stuff you rarely use. So don't dabble to much into magic except where it's free, so to speak as listed above for outside combat stuff. So focus on bow and melee, and dabble into magic when convenient to keep your leveling and skill growth constant, instead of the plateau people generally hit around 40. It's something you can slowly build toward as you play for dozens of hours, before you are ready and maximize your skill gain and pump out hundreds of rings and bows, which you can in turn sell and enchant for vast riches, which you can in turn use for trainers when they get expensive. This, along with smelting the hundreds of dwarven ore you can find in dwemer ruins, means you will have a ton of material to level your smithing, which increases the cap on armor/weapon refinement. Mine every iron ore/silver vein you come across and use the transmute skill to hoard a giant mass of gold ore you can use later, while leveling up alteration, which is generally hard to do without 100 level enchanting 0 magic cost. At that MP, you can also cast bound bow and 2H in combat, leveling that tree too, which has great early perks like increased damage and free soul trap. With that, you can cast muzzle constantly while your running around outside of combat so your MP recharges super quick, and let's you easily level stealth while going through caves with a bow while leveling illusion SUPER quick. Put no more than 5 attribute points for 150 MP. That said, it's super easy to level magic, and in turn get more skill points for your other trees. Magic is kind of a dead end as it doesn't scale well, and MP economy is a drag as it requires you to wear robes in a game where you are constantly finding cool looking armor. It's hard for me to answer this without overwhelming people because I basically perfected power leveling in this game so I'll try to keep it simple
